Forty years ago this week, some folks headed to the IRS to register their weapons with the U.S. Treasury Department. We hav footage of machine guns, sawed-off rifles, even anti-tank guns being brought in. To find out why, click the "Watch" button.

Thirty years ago this week, the federal hammer fell on members of the mafia's so-called "B Team" in Rochester. Our cameras caught them as they walked into court to face federal charges of weapons possession. The arraignment capped a year of violence - including murder - between the two mob factions in Rochester.

Also this week in 1978, skating season kicked off at the Xerox Square skating rink in downtown Rochester. That year, the Xerox Square rink was the only one operating downtown. Because of budget cuts, the city never opened the rink at nearby Manhattan Square Park.

Twenty years ago this week, federal, state and local police announced a major drug bust. They seized a kilo of cocaine - tens of thousands in cash, and plenty of weapons after busting a drug sale in Rochester.

"It's too much on the streets now, not even a drop in the bucket. You get rid of 1 kilo and there's 40 or 50 more on the same day, in the same city," said police.  "It's long and hard, but we're there and we're not going to stop."

The suspects: One woman and two men. They tried to drive away from the scene, but were caught after they crashed into a police van.
