Reported by: WROC-TV Friday, Oct 17, 2008 @01:04pm EDT In it's 158 years, the University of Rochester has never received a gift as large as this one. Edmund Hajim, a 1958 graduate of the U of R's School of Engineering, is donating $30 million, it was announced Friday afternoon. It's the largest single gift commitment in the University's history. The gift will be used for scholarships to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Hajim is an investment manager who has worked for several investment firms over his career. Hajim has been on the university board since 1988. |
