the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen, seeking to update the 60-foot x 80-foot billboard in Times Square that features Ryan Hunter-Reay as part of the Indy Racing League's new multi-year partnership with the apparel company.

Strike "I am Next." Replace please with "I am Now."

Hunter-Reay recorded his first victory in 16 career IndyCar Series races and the first for Rahal Letterman Racing since August 2004 by holding off Darren Manning by 2.4009 seconds in the fourth annual race on the 3.37-mile, 11-turn Watkins Glen International course. Tony Kanaan persevered with a painful left wrist suffered in a morning practice session crash to join the podium celebration and Buddy Rice finished fourth.

"It's a dream come true," said Hunter-Reay, who made his debut with the team last July at Mid-Ohio. "American kid winning with ethanol on the side of the car. It's an American team - Bobby Rahal gave me the job and now we're in Victory Circle. I can't tell you how happy I am. This is amazing."

Hunter-Reay overtook Manning, the leader in the No. 14 ABC Supply Co. entry for A.J. Foyt Racing in Turn 1 of a Lap 51 restart and hung on the remaining nine laps that included another restart.

"I just got a good run on Darren, stuffed it down in there, and said I'll deal with it when it happens," Hunter-Reay said. "Then I got to the top of the hill, Darren popped to the outside so I stuck to the inside and we held on to it from there."

Hunter-Reay also benefited from a Lap 49 incident under caution involving IndyCar Series points leader Scott Dixon, who was seeking a series-record fourth consecutive victories at The Glen, and the car of pole-sitter Ryan Briscoe. Dixon's No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing car spun in Turn 10 as he was warming up the tires and was struck in the rear by the No. 6 Team Penske car of pole sitter Ryan Briscoe.

Dixon, who was running second to Manning at the time, and Briscoe, who was third, were able to pit and continue the race. Dixon, who finished 11th, still widened his points lead from 43 to 48 over Helio Castroneves, who started from the rear of the field after not recording a time in qualifications because of a steering issue. He finished 16th and has 322 points.

"I feel bad. I was a complete idiot," said Dixon, whose streak of seven top-five finishes ended. "My guys lost very valuable points today. It seems like a lot of people have been having a bad day. I still can't believe I did it. It's pretty bad. I was just trying to burn the front tires up a bit because of the new tires and the restarts. I was very loose. I was trying to eat them up to see if that would help it. I got a bit aggressive and went a little higher into the turn and I saw it and the steering wheel snapped on me. I feel more down for Briscoe and his boys."
