Friday, Jun 27, 2008 @11:39am EDT WROC-TV's News 8 Now and Hillside Family of Agencies are 'Shedding
Light on Mental Illness'- the statistics on the incidence of mental
illness are staggering, and the consequences for families and
communities can be devastating. Right now, over 2 million people in
the Finger Lake region are being treated for mental illness, but it's
believed an even greater number, are suffering in silence, unable to
get the help they need or even unaware that they are suffering from a
treatable condition. The journalists of News 8 Now are telling the stories of those among us who have struggled, who have suffered, and who have found hope in successfully living with this common disease in its many forms. Here now is the special presentation of "Suffering in Silence: Shedding Light on Mental Illness," an hour long special as aired on WROC-TV June 24, 2008. |
