  • FAA Releases Northwest Airlines Recording From Overshot...
    Reported by: WROC-TV

    Friday, Nov 27, 2009 @04:00pm EST

The Federal Aviation Administration has released the audio from the Northwest Airlines flight which overshot the Minneapolis airport by 150 miles in October.

On the recording, one of the pilots asks the tower for a new approach route to the airport after flying past. Another segment includes the tower asking pilots for an explanation.

After a delay of about 12 seconds, the cockpit responds by saying they were discussing "some company issues" with one of the pilots saying, "just cockpit distractions. That's all I can say."

The two pilots have lost their licenses as the incident is investigated.
