Drivers in downtown Rochester will notice something new around Midtown Plaza.

Crews began installing fencing around Midtown on Tuesday, which is now a construction site. It will take crews two to three weeks to completely fence in the building. Midtown Tower will be left standing, but much of the structure, including the former mall, will be torn down.

The work will cause some sidewalks and parking spots around Midtown to be closed.
