Reported by: WROC-TV Monday, Oct 26, 2009 @02:20pm EDT With the World Series matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees set to get underway later this week, the U.S. Senators from both states have made a little friendly wager on the outcome of this year's Fall Classic.
U.S. Senator Charles Schumer says he and and his fellow senator from New York Kirsten Gillibrand have entered a bet with Philadelphia's two U.S. Senators, Arlen Specter and Bob Casey. The winners of the bet will receive a supply of delicacies from the loser's home state: cheesesteaks from Philadelphia or Junior's Cheesecakes from New York. Game One of the World Series takes place Wednesday in the Bronx. You can watch the game on Fox Rochester. |
