Monday, Sep 14, 2009 @10:59pm EDT Matt MolloyGeneral Assignment Reporter A Connecticut native, Matt graduated Boston University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism before starting his career in Watertown, New York, where he was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WWTI, the ABC affiliate. After a year, he moved on to WETM, the NBC affiliate in Elmira, New York. There Matt anchored the 5 and 10pm newscasts and covered such events as the launch of the Shuttle Discovery, NASA's first mission since the Columbia disaster in 2003 which also carried Elmira native Eileen Collins as NASA's first female shuttle commander. Matt also remembers anchoring live breaking news coverage of the search and capture of convicted killer Ralph "Bucky" Phillips as a highlight of his WETM experience. Matt's work has been recognized by the Syracuse Press Club and the New York State Associated Press. When he's not working, Matt can be found at the gym. He is a certified spinning instructor. |
