Monday, Sep 14, 2009 @10:51pm EDT Scott HetskoChief Meteorologist- News 8 Now at 5, 6, and 11 and Fox First at Ten Anchor Scott was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he first fell in love with weather during the Blizzard of 1978. Since then, he has enjoyed forecasting weather, especially winter storms. Scott began his career at WYOU, in Scranton, while finishing his degree, and joined WROC in December of 1999. Scott says his on-air energy is driven by passion, "I'm one of the lucky few who can honestly say I love how I make my living!". Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Penn State University. He also has a degree in Broadcasting/Journalism from Luzerne County College. While attending school, he worked at Accuweather delivering radio forecasts for hundreds of stations nationwide. Scott has the seal of approval for television weathercasting from both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. Scott and his wife, the lovely Jen, live in Henrietta with future Yankees shortstop Logan Edward (no pressure). When not watching storms, Scott follows the New York Yankees and he's always looking to fit in a round of golf! |
