Reported by: John Kucko Thursday, Sep 10, 2009 @10:26pm EDT (Rochester, NY)… The Rochester Rhinos will return home after a four game road trip on Sunday, when they host the Miami FC Blues at Marina Auto Stadium.
After returning home with a 2-1-1 record on their recent road trip, one that saw the club clinch a postseason berth for the 14th consecutive season, the Rhinos will close out the final two regular season matches beginning in Sunday. The first meeting of the season between the two clubs at Marina Auto Stadium, Rochester has defeated Miami twice on the road by a final score of 2-1. In both victories Rhinos forward Johnny Menyongar has provided the spark scoring both goals in the two victories. His two goals on Tuesday night lifted the 2008 team MVP into a first place tie for the USL-1 goal scoring lead with Portland’s Mandjou Keita and Vancouver’s Charles Gbeke. Currently at 11-9-8 with two games remaining, Rochester can finish no higher than fourth place in the First Division table with their final match coming against Charleston next Friday night. |
