Reported by: WROC-TV Monday, Aug 31, 2009 @06:25pm EDT Freshman at the University of Rochester spent today giving the city of Rochester a bit of a face lift. It's part of the school's annual Wilson Day event.
More than 800 students volunteered at non-profit organization in Rochester and beyond. They helped at churches, schools and other community agencies. The idea is to get the students acquainted with the city and each other. "It's a great bonding experience, definitely. Through the red paint you get to know other people better, spend some time with each other," said Shouling Zhang. "I think it's especially important because I live here that I help the people that have been around me for so long," said Amy Stell.
