In the scam, a person will receive a phone call from someone claiming that the person faces arrest for ignoring a summons for jury duty. When the person denies that claim, the caller will ask for the person's birth date and Social Security number to verify the information. The personal data is then used by the caller to steal the person's identity. The FBI has already begun an investigation into the scam. |
