Reported by: WROC-TV Wednesday, Aug 5, 2009 @04:47pm EDT It looks like Americans under age 50 are the biggest supporters of President Obama's proposals on how to reform the nation's health care system.
A CNN/Opinion Research poll of more than 1,100 adults indicates most senior citizens, defined as people age 50 and older, are not in favor of Obama's health care proposals. Among everyone surveyed, 50% said they support the President's plans while 45% are opposed. During their August recess, some U.S. House and Senate members are hosting community meetings where voters can share their views on health care reform. The new poll shows 7 out of 10 Americans plan to attend those events in the next few weeks. The poll results also indicate most Americans are currently satisfied with both their health care and their health insurance. There was an even split among poll respondents on whether insurance companies or the government should make decisions on matters like which patients should receive certain medical treatments. |
