A new report by the New York State Association of Realtors says home sales were up in June compared to May, but still lower than a year ago.

Sales of existing single-family homes in the state went up 30% from May to June, but were still down 6.5% from June of 2008. The statewide median price rose 2.8% month-over-month, but is still about 11% under last year's figures.

In Monroe County, more than 100 homes were sold in June (664) than in May (550). Ontario County also saw a big jump from May (62) to June (94).

Home sales were slightly up in Livingston and Orleans counties, but were down in Genesee and Wayne counties.
